Podcasting for everyone...

So, Apple has done it again. They have released their new version of iTunes that now includes Podcasting built-in. I started playing with Podcasting a few months ago, as a subscriber, and thought it was really cool. You can set up your computer to download audio content from various sources on the internet right into your ipod (you don’t have to have an ipod to use podcasting, but for some reason it is called podcasting). With this new release of iTunes you can manage all of your podcast feeds through their software and it will do everything automatically for you. I am still learning about this and the different opportunities for content, but I think this new integration is going to be a really cool thing. If you haven’t heard or checked into podcasts you should give it a try. It is a really neat way to listen to some of your favorite audio sources. Like blogger, this will give a way for everyone to create their own audio content. I haven’t done that, nor do I think I will, but it is really cool to think that I actually could…

Shark Tooth...

Well, the current topic of significant interesting is Devin’s new tooth that is coming in. We have taken to calling it his “shark tooth” but according to the dentist everything is okay and unless his front tooth doesn’t come out there is nothing to worry about. As luck would have it his tooth is starting to become loose so we think it is just a matter of time before he will loose his first tooth! He is pretty excited about it and looking forward to it coming out.

Denise, the crafty one...

Denise, being the crafty person that she is, decided to make everyone in the house Harry Potter scarves. She has already finished the ones for Devin and Desirae, which are obviously Gryffindor and in the picture she is working on the Slytherin one for me. Hey I figured I needed to be a bit different from everyone else in the house. She still has more to do on this one and to finish hers, but they are coming along fairly quickly so I don’t think it is going to take long.

Table Saw

Okay, so we got this wild idea to buy a table saw and start doing some wood working. Maybe not the best laid out plan, but hey, it is something Denise and I are going to do together, and together time is good time!

Anyway, I would have never realized just how darn difficult it was to do woodworking. Now, in retrospect, I think it just might have been a good idea to take wood shop in school...

So after about three weeks and many failed attempts to make something... Anything... We now have a piece of MDF that is 48" wide by 27" deep. And amazingly enough, it is actually square. Have you ever realized just how hard it is to make something square? All those folks on TV make it look pretty easy and you always see them checking, "Yep, I made it square". But it ain't that easy...

So we still haven't actually made anything yet, but we now have a square piece of MDF and we still have all of our fingers... So I think I will settle for that right now!

DashBlog

So, I think I might actually be on the road to figuring this whole blog thing out. So I was thinking, I have this new OS X that has this dashboard thing, so maybe I can edit my new blog quickly using a widget. Sure enough there just happens to be a widget that connects right to blogger... Who would have ever thought it!

A New Blog

Hmmm, okay so I think I figured out what a blog actually is, and wow there is this web site that is supposed to make it all easy. I guess this must be something worth checking into...

So here I am typing in text, not really having any idea what I am doing, and maybe, just maybe there will be a blog at the end of this!
