Playing with light...

We decided to play with some lighting techniques - or at least to play with a single strobe to try and figure out if we could like a portrait a certain way. I say we because Denise was the photographer for most of the shots tonight. So the setup basically included a single Nikon SB800 shot into an umbrella and I used the window shade from my car as a reflector. It was really kind of neat to play with setting up the light in different configurations and positions and to watch the change of light with the use of the reflector. It was also the first time I had been on the other side of the lens when flashes were in use - so that was kind of a different perspective as well. We kind of ran out of our window with Deanna so we didn't get a chance to take a photograph of Devin, but he was VERY helpful on reflector duty. Again the main point was to play with the flash units and try understand a bit better how the different configurations were going to work.
