Beads everywhere!

Denise brought out the beads today for a project. When I got home the kids, and Denise were in the midst of creating patterns and such with the beads. Basically what you do is put the beads on a platform holder and then, when each bead is in the right place, you iron it and they melt together. You can actually make some pretty interesting patters. Anyway the kids found it fun.

Today's doctor's appointment went well today. They informed Denise that she failed the last test BIG TIME. They are still hopeful that the diet will bring everything under control and that there will be no need to have to use insulin. The next test, on Friday, will encompass going down and having blood drawn, then they will (I guess) send her away to go eat breakfast (following the diet) and then they will take her blood again at exactly 2 hours after the last piece of food goes into her mouth.

We are not sure how structured the test is going to be, but for right now the plan is that we will all go down there and have breakfast together. From there it will just depend on if she has to stay there or not. If she has to stay we will just come home, otherwise we might run around for a bit while we wait.

Either way, keep your fingers crossed that everything will go well and she won't have to do the insulin!

I am sorry I never got around to doing the "bead thing" with the kids while they were here - I purchased all the stuff, but there will always be a next time. I will keep good thoughts about Denise's progress and hopefully there will be no need for insulin!
